Tips from a Pro on How to Prepare VMware Certified Professional 6 – Network Virtualization (VCP6-NV)

In this post I will report my path to the approval of the VCP-NV certification, which I had already thought of taking for some time. The first step was to calmly read the Exam Guide. After knowing the requirements, I made all the labs of Hands-on Labs from NSX.

Labs are not in the test, but I’ve done them anyway, because the topics were really nice. Knowledge is never too much.

Here is the list of books and websites that helped me throughout the preparation.

Books:

VMware NSX Automation Fundamentals

VMware NSX Network Virtualization Fundamentals

During the studies I had the chance to take the official training (VMware NSX: Install, Configure, Manage [V6.4]), which I recommend for those who have the opportunity to take. The training was excellent and nothing better than an instructor to solve our questions. After training I set up an NSX lab to test some solutions and solidify knowledge. The construction of the Laboratory I report in this post. I hope this post helps everyone who is interested in taking the exam in the future.

NSX LAB:

Deploy NSX – Part 1

Deploying NSX Controller – Part 2

Preparing Cluster and Hosts – Part 3
